Shipping and Mailing!

With this being my main concern with opening a shop here are some of the supplies, tools and tricks Ive learned along the way. As I grow with my shop and products will update this page as I trial and error new things \(*T▽T*)/

Tools

  • Websites and programs: I use a lot with my business are of course Shopify and Stamps.com. this website allows me to connect my orders from shopify/etsy and offers me the best deals, ability to print my own stamps and has a free scale available when signing up. Pirate ship is another I have tried but for my store and the prices I was looking for I found stamps to be a better option.

For my prints and stickers I mainly print to order and do it all at home. This lets me make sure each print is of high quality and printing along with not leaving me with leftovers. Even if its my favorite print they dont always sell the 100 copies Id have to order from a manufacturer.

  • Printer; Sadly my older printer finally put in the towel after a long run of 9 years. She served me well and I highly recommend those who enjoy canon and looking for an all in one printer scanner. However while I did enjoy how she printed I now feel with the market there are cheaper printers that offer higher quality prints but for being an all in one I do recommend the Canon MX922. For my new printer, that I was amazingly able to invest in, I decided to try the Epson Expression Xp-15000Since I am still testing the longevity and ink price of this model I cant give a complete review but I must say the prints I am getting I'm in love with. The images are crisp and after some color editing in the settings the colors are beyond vibrant. My only concern so far is how long it will last for me and the price of ink in the long run. Current Ink I invest in
  • Label Printer; With the purchase of my label maker I felt I put the cart before the horse in regards to my business since orders and income are not guaranteed when starting a new store. Many cheaper options are available like using your printer that you use to make prints to also make labels etc. even using copy paper and clear tape will work. While I love my label maker this is what I recommend for new stores before investing. But when you are ready to invest in one this is the one I use, MUNBYN thermal Label printer (green/teal) and it works beautifully with my system and connects well. This doesn't use ink so it definitely saves in the long run when making mass labels. The labels also come online at a pretty decent deal in roll or flat option
  • Paper Trimmer; for this I was definitely shopping around for best price and I found the best trick was going to Micheals and using the %50 off coupon they offer, as long and item isnt already on sale. The one I use is called the Fiskars Deluxe Craft Bypass Paper Trimmer

 Supplies!!

  • Paper; For my prints I like how the Matte finish looks with the Photo Paper Pro Premium Matte but I'm also looking into a beautiful Luster paper by the same company so will have to see :3
  • Ink
  • Crafter Paper Bags; These are the bags I use to pack my 5x7' prints and stickers into. I ran across this trick on tiktok and fell in love with how they look along with the recyclability of them. You also have the ability to print on them! Just adjust the size of your print tray and make any png image you want to showcase. I found having b/w image works best for this and standard printing image because it is craft paper. Be sure you're putting the bag in the tray the desired direction you want printed! Wasted a few bags this way haha.
  • Mailers; for my mailers I really try to find options that are recycle friendly and as rigid as possible to avoid damage during mailing process. The main ones I use are 6x8" and my larger options are 9x11". With both of these I discovered the self adhesive tape doesn't always stay closed with heat or moisture in the environment. For this I got a water activated tape from Sticker Mule and I really like this addition, for both showing my appreciation and logo along with adding more security to the parcel during shipping.
  • Scale; Since most of my prints are 5x7" I use this scale to weigh packages for labels
